Welcome to my blog! I want to share what I've been up to lately. The image above, which is the wraparound cover for Scrappy Jack a book I wrote and illustrated. It's a biography of my dad, who had plenty of stories to tell and he lived to be 100 years old. The original version called "So, That's That!"was given to him on his 100th birthday many years ago. That's me and my brother, dad, and two sisters in the junkyard where I grew up. The best playground any kid could ask for!

I was devastated that I didn't get into OCA, but reapplied the following year and got advanced standing into second year. Still feeling a bit insecure in my new surroundings, I did find myself getting interested in subjects I knew nothing about.
Hi Joan, Excellent story and the drawings are perfect. Hig School and Art School Confidentials..... We all have them and now Joan we and hear how it all happened. Love the pace and enjoying every page.
More! More!
ReplyDeleteBlah Blah Blah Blah Jack Kirby! Good to see some things are always the same. ;)
ReplyDeleteReally enjoying this, Joan. Looking forward to the rest of the story.
Oh this is great! I've always loved Joan's take on things. I especially like Ken's platform shoe in the last panel and where it's going!
ReplyDeleteWow, way to go Joan! I'm really impressed. This is such a massive undertaking, and it's turned out to so good. I'm hooked!

Hi Joan,
ReplyDeleteI just thought I would tell you, I can't seem to type my comments without a few mistakes. I am a wee bit dylstexic. :-)
