Because it's Valentines day... I thought I'd post a Valentines
story from this 2nd grade reader I had as a child. I was at Bolens

book store the other day and saw a bunch of the Dick and Jane
books in reprint!

This is a page from my graphic novel but it doesn't
have word balloons at this point. If you look closely
you can see the reader in the middle of the stacked books.

I don't know why I kept this book... maybe nostalgia? I do like looking
at it from time to time. I'll always remember those snowy days around
Valentines day in Ontario. It's rare but we had a blizzard in Victoria this
weekend, it made me think of this reader... hope you enjoy!

This is my Character Design class. For our first assignment
my students draw
a cartoon version of themselves
on  a model sheet, then sculpt a small 3d model.

Then my students make an amateur with wire, tinfoil
and masking tape to hold it all together. Super Sculpy
covers the whole surface ready to sculpt!

Just a few more drawing classes with another fabulous model Petra.
She also makes all her own costumes!

This is a drawing I did in class, using graphite pencil. It
was done in a rather large newsprint flip chart, I prefer to
draw small but this way the students can see what I'm
doing. It was a 10 min. pose

As you can see, these costumes are amazing and fun to draw!

Welcome to my classroom at Camosun College. It's been a long time since I've posted pictures or anything, really... profuse apologies! Hope I don't let that much time go by again... If I still have anyone who checks my site periodically, I'll start again here. This is the studio where I teach my students structural drawing this term and last. The model you see is Tim Matthews, he makes his own cosplay costumes!
