The San Diego Comic Con back in the 80s was a fraction of the size it is now. Ken was in  his element, I was not... he seemed  to know everyone, I couldn't wait to get out of there. The bottom panel is all the new X-men artist drawing sketches for the fans. Although I could appreciate the art work and the amazing skill the artist had, I was not a big fan. Sometimes I would find some work I liked but it was generally a bit qwerky. Geof Darrow's artwork was fascinating to me and Mobius , one of Geof's influences, along with many other artist around that time.
Speaking of Comic Con... We're having a mini con. at the college on Sun. the 6th, from 12:00-till 5:00        I hope you join us for some fun!!!

  1. Joan, The Friendship Cube Group is looking for an Authorstrator that can explain the Friendship Cube System to kids. Our three step friendship cube system is: Do a good deed, earn a friendship cube, and inspire your friends to do the same. Kids can make a promise... and do a planned act of kindness in order to earn one of our friendship cubes. A small act of kindness is rewarded with our small friendship cube, and a larger act of kindness is rewarded with our larger friendship cube. Kids that volunteer or help out or tutor other kids effectively earn our friendship cube. The whole idea is to create a ripple effect of good deeds and kindness that makes the world a better place. It spreads when kids realize that it is good and useful… it is getting more popular. Our students need a little booklet that makes them feel good about what they are doing, and explains the friendship cube system in very simple language with intriguing artwork. Children gain a positive mindset change from our friendship cube system. We want to inspire kids with this little booklet to make positive changes in their own lives and in the lives of others. And we want to empower these children with our simple friendship cube code. Our friendship cube code is cool… especially for boys and girls that like having a special secret code to use with friends. It is cool because it is faster, more intuitive, creative and innovative, efficient, and integrated with smart-devices. Literally we can get a digital photo or scan or upload of our friendship cube encoded writings and Siri will read it to us aloud. The friendship cube system is being implemented in summer camps, libraries, and schools across Canada. If you could help us make an illustrated booklet, you will get sponsorship from Ministries and Foundations and Associations and Clubs across Canada that believe in our work. Contact me and we can work out the next steps forward.
